Our own Computing Curriculum has been designed from scratch by our own Master Teachers, Lead Practitioners and Apple Distinguished Educator to reflect the skills required for the 21st Century across a range of disciplines to give context to creativity and coding.
This learning walk gives delegates the chance to explore what happens in practice, have a chance to talk to the children as well as the teachers about their planning as well as teaching and learning.
The International Primary Curriculum (IPC) is used across our schools to enhance our curriculum. IPC is effective in enabling pupils to apply skills and knowledge acquired in English, Maths, Science and other curriculum areas in a purposeful and concrete way. The Federation has linked all topic areas to the key skills children should learn in Science, History, Geography, DT, Art, Computing and Music/Dance. Each topic is also linked to a parent expert and this has been pivotal in developing parental engagement and support of the school’s curriculum.
This learning walk gives delegates the chance to explore what happens in practice, have a chance to talk to the children as well as the teachers about IPC across the school.
Our Phonics programme is taught daily in Reception and Key Stage 1. Children enjoy their lessons immensely and rapidly learn a very complex alphabetical code which they apply to their reading and writing.
This learning walk gives delegates the chance to explore what happens in practice, have a chance to talk to the children as well as the teachers about their phonics planning and the learning.
In our Federation we encourage excellent writing across the curriculum. To find out how to make your learners writing show visible signs of progress, visit the Federation of Grazebrook and Shacklewell Primary Schools. Within our schools, you will see how the impact of writing across the curriculum has helped transform children’s learning experiences; playing a pivotal role in individual progress in the classroom.
During this course you will learn about the key principles of ‘Writing within a Thematic Curriculum’ and how to make the writing, effective, purposeful and central to the progress pupils make.
